Food hygiene courses | Oxfordshire County Council

Food hygiene courses

Childminder courses in preparing and handling food.

The Early Years Foundation Stage says “Providers must be confident that those responsible for preparing and handling food are competent to do so. In group provision, all staff involved in preparing and handling food must receive training in food hygiene”.

Although it is not compulsory for childminders to attend Food Hygiene training, you have to be competent in the preparation and handling of food to meet recommended guidelines.

We recommend that you do Level 2 or above food hygiene course.
