Apply to the new Covenant Fund to support the armed forces community

The Covenant Fund

The Covenant Fund has £10 million each year to support the Armed Forces Covenant by funding projects which address specific priorities.

The following four priorities have been set for the financial year 2016-17. Priorities 2, 3 and 4 will be reviewed in two years’ time:

  1. Veterans’ Gateway
  2. Families in Stress
  3. Improving local covenant delivery (for local authorities)
  4. Community integration / delivery of local services

Open grant process, with initial expressions of interest, following which there will be a full application process.

5 April 2016 – applicant workshop

4 May 2016 – guidance and application form available

1 July 2016 – stage one application deadline

1 September 2016 – stage one decisions

7 December 2016 – stage two application deadline

30 March 2017 – final decisions communicated

2 – Families in Stress

Two-stage application process, with an expression of interest stage followed by a full application stage.

22 June 2016 – stage one application deadline

1 September 2016– stage one decisions

30 November 2016 – stage two application deadline

1 March 2017 – final decisions communicated

3 – Improving Local Covenant Delivery

Detailed single stage application.

4 – Community Integration / Delivery of local services

The application forms are online surveys. You should refer to the relevant grants guidance, as you complete your application to ensure you give yourself the best chance of success. If you would like to see a list of the questions asked on each of the forms, you can find them on the guidance page.
