My name is Tom Hill and I’m privileged to be the Chief Executive of Helen & Douglas House.

Helen & Douglas House is an Oxford-based charity providing respite and end of life care to children and young adults.

At Helen & Douglas House we believe that the children and the young people who use our service deserve nothing but the best.

Experience over the years of working with the council’s fire training officers has convinced me that they are the best.

Their experience is second to none.  They get serious messages across without sensationalising.  And, they share the precious mission of Helen & Douglas House, which is to value every life.

My name is Mike Wisbach and I’m Headteacher at Charlton-On-Otmoor primary  school – a small, rural primary school about halfway between Oxford and Bicester.

Fire safety is important for everybody, but it is particularly important in school.  I have responsibility for 111 children and 20 adults and their safety is my priority at all times.

We use Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue service because they are our local supplier and it’s important for us to build up a relationship, not just have one-off training.

They are plenty of suppliers who will do that for you, but we need to know that there is somebody there that we can call on whenever our needs change and we need to do something about it.

"Recently arranged fire marshal training with Oxfordshire County Council; Learning and Development Department for a number of iSOFT staff and have been very pleased with the service we received from this organisation.

I found the booking process to be very user friendly and the company tailored their courses to the individual needs of iSOFT. During the training, the presentations were enjoyable, interesting and presented in a very professional matter. Following the fire marshal training, I have received very positive feedback from the iSOFT staff who have completed the course.

The training venues were excellent and we were impressed with the fact that the training was delivered by a member of the fire brigade. I would strongly recommend this organisation to businesses that have a requirement for fire marshal training."

"The Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford have been using Oxfordshire County Councils’ Learning and Development team to provide in house Fire safety Awareness training for the last two years. The training has always met our needs and the Libraries’ staff who have attended the training always feed back that the sessions are informative, succinct and fun and that the trainers clearly know the subject well."
