Children's Services Offer - our approach

A new way of delivering open access services with communities.

We have set out our draft framework for devolving services to communities under the banner of Oxfordshire Together. As part of this, there is an opportunity for voluntary sector and community organisations, town and parish councils to offer open access services for children and families in their communities. The initial offer has been well received by community groups, the voluntary sector and parish councils with many offering open access services.

Oxfordshire County Council has began engagement with town and parish councils, voluntary sector organisations and community groups to assess their interest in this children’s services offer. We are working with local organisations to identify innovative solutions.

We are working with local communities to identify options for the future use of the Children's Centre’s and Early Intervention Hub buildings. We also want to look at how open-access non-statutory services could continue to be run without financial support from Oxfordshire County Council.

Further details about the approach can be found in our draft Children's Services Community Initiatives Framework (pdf format, 349Kb).
