Children's services - How will it work

What you need to know about the approach in practice and the sites in scope.

We are interested in exploring options in relation to the future use of Children’s Centre and Early Intervention Hub buildings. To enable community groups to have as much time as possible to consider alternative solutions, we provided information for each site as part of a property audit on:

  • site information, ownership, leases
  • site costs/ Building Maintenance
  • utility costs
  • potential rents from OCC
  • percentage or amount of property management recharge
  • any current income streams

Building information of each of the sites in scope can be accessed by clicking on the building names below.

The county council's Community Asset Transfer Policy (pdf format, 339Kb) explains how surplus buildings or land owned by the county council can be made available for use by town and parish councils and community and voluntary organisations.

Expressions of Interest for asset transfer have now closed as many communities are now entering in lease arrangements with proposed services to follow.

A list of the in scope sites are detailed below by district locality. All sites were considered on an individual basis.
