Armed Forces Day

A chance to show our support for the whole of the Armed Forces Community

Armed Forces Day is an annual event celebrated in late June to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces. It is a chance for everyone to show their support for the men and women who serve in the armed forces community; everyone from troops currently on operations to cadets, veterans and the families of servicemen and women.

This year Armed Forces Day will be held on Saturday, 24 June 2017 and there are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support and get involved, from attending an event to throwing a party or local event.

Further details about how you can get involved are available on the Armed Forces Day website.

Oxfordshire County Council will be showing its support for the Armed Forces by hosting a Flag Raising ceremony led by the Chairman of the Council. This will take place on Monday 19 June 2017 in Oxford.

Below are some photographs from previous years’ events.
