We all know how important physical activity is for our health, and summer is the perfect opportunity to enjoy many different activities. Here are some fun ideas to inspire you and your family.

Walks and rides

The warmer weather and summer holidays provide the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy Oxfordshire’s beautiful countryside. We’ve got lots of suggestions on walks and rides across the county, for all abilities.

Hill End

Take a trip to Hill End to get close to nature and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Hill End’s summer calendar is packed with events for all ages.

10 minute shake up

The 10 Minute Shake Up is an annual Public Health England campaign designed to inspire children to get active over the summer.


Seize the sunny weather and get active outdoors. There are many opportunities to improve your fitness by taking part in organised activities across Oxfordshire. Try Go Active for lots of different regional  activities, Generation Games for free activities for the over 50s, Green Gyms which are free outdoor activities with a conservation focus, and Health walks for short, organised walks.
