Central government funding for sixth form students includes the national Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), Care to Learn and the Further Education Residential Support Scheme. Locally, Oxfordshire County Council administer the Learner Support Fund 16-18, which helps sixth form students who attend schools in Oxfordshire.
Please note that from 2009-2010 we are only dealing with applications for loans and grants from renewing university students, who are continuing on a course they started in 2008 or before.
All new higher education students will be assessed by the new centralised service known as Student Finance England, and Local Authorities like ourselves will not have any involvement. There is an online service for new students within the government's Direct Gov - Student Finance England website, where you can apply online.
