Planning policy

Policies that we, and other councils, have developed to direct the development and use of land in Oxfordshire.

South East Plan

Oxfordshire is in the South East region. The Regional Spatial Strategy for the South East was the South East Plan but it has now been revoked.

Minerals and Waste policy

Our Minerals and Waste Local Plan, and the Minerals and Waste Development Framework that will replace it.

Local plans and local development frameworks

Detailed policies and proposals that guide development at district level, and how the legislation is changing. Our planning team also provides advice to the Council on Local Development Frameworks being developed by the Districts, and on planning policy. This advice is particularly important because planning policy can often be subject to rapid and significant change.

Sustainable construction

An advice note setting out the renewable energy policies in the South East Plan, and encouraging construction methods that reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
