Summertown shopping area

Transport proposals for the Summertown shopping area in Oxford.
Banbury Road in Summertown

We have now completed this major scheme to improve safety and local facilities in the Summertown area of Oxford. Safety measures have been implemented including a pedestrian crossing near the Dew Drop Inn, a 20mph speed limit and changes to road markings.

Other changes include:

  • a new, distinctive road surface for the length of Banbury Road in the 20mph zone
  • new bus stops and bus shelters to improve life for bus users
  • footways re-paved to a high standard
  • the removal of unnecessary signs
  • more trees and benches
  • more secure cycle parking and stands

For more information, take a look at the press release.
