Local Transport Plan

We have recently adopted our second Local Transport Plan (LTP). The new LTP covers a five-year period from April 2006 - March 2011 and sets out a vision for transport in Oxfordshire. It focuses on five priority areas:

• tackling congestion
• delivering accessibility
• safer roads
• better air quality
• improving the street environment.

The LTP includes a programme for improvements across the county to meet the priorities. The delivery of this programme is dependent upon the availability of funding over the course of the five-year plan period.

Our progress so far

We submitted a Delivery Report for our first Local Transport Plan to the Department for Transport in July last year. It is a report on the achievements that we made over the last five years (2001-06) and the progress that was made towards the core national targets.

The final version of the 2008 Local Transport Plan Progress Report (.pdf format, 1.7 Mb) has now been completed. It sets out the progress that has been made to date on implementing the plan and any programme alterations required to meet new or amended priorities.

Oxfordshire County Council has received the Government Office South East response (.pdf format, 28 Kb) to the LTP2 2008 Progress Report.
