There are 43 libraries and five mobile libraries serving the county. Find out opening times of your local library, how to join, search the library catalogue and reserve books.

Library catalogue

Search all the titles in Oxfordshire's public libraries. The library catalogue will tell you where they are held and if they are available for you to borrow or reserve. You will need a PIN for some services which you can get by taking your library ticket to your local library.

Oxfordshire Libraries subscribes to a wide range of online information, giving all our members access from home 24 hours a day as well as being available in every library.

Bookstart - free books for children

Bookstart gives a free pack of books to every baby in the UK, to inspire, stimulate and create a love of reading.

We have a wide range of services including large print books, CDs and videos as well as newspapers and magazines, plus business information and free public access to the Internet.

Charges and fines

Libraries provide a free book borrowing service, but we make charges for overdue books and have additional fees for requesting items and for hiring books, DVDs, videos and CD-ROMs. Information about our charges.
