Outdoor education

Oxfordshire has a long history of quality outdoor education.

The Outdoor Education Service caters mainly for young people, but also offers opportunities and training for teachers and other adults in a variety of locations.

We can offer pupils a range of experiences of outdoor and environmental activities of increasing challenge throughout their school career, covering a wide spread of National Curriculum and A level /GCSE courses and personal and social development. Our centres take a flexible and innovative approach to meeting your objectives so please contact them to discuss your needs.

Health & Safety

We have produced a comprehensive manual of guidance on all aspects of health & safety (Out and About 3) in relation to school visits and outdoor activities. Every school was provided with a copy in September 2003 and updates are issued as required.  If you would like more details or order a copy email healthandsafety.education@oxfordshire.gov.uk
