Learning disabilities
Services and advice for people with learning disabilities, including transport, employment and care.
What is a learning disability?
A learning disability has a lasting effect on a person’s development. Key points are:
- people with learning disabilities find it harder to learn, but they can do so with help from other people
- people with learning disabilities usually have them from birth or early childhood
- some people have severe learning disabilities and will need a lot of day-to-day support
- people with mild or moderate learning disabilities can live with much less help from other people.
We believe that people with learning disabilities can lead a full and interesting life.
