South East Plan
How the future Regional Spatial Strategy for the South East is being developed.
The South East Plan is the Regional Spatial Strategy for the South East which will guide regional planning in South East England up to 2026. The South East Plan is expected to be adopted in early 2009. When it is adopted it will replace the Structure Plan for Oxfordshire and for other counties in the region.
The Government published proposed changes to the draft South East Plan prepared by South East England Regional Assembly in July 2008. The draft Plan includes policies which apply to the whole region, and specific policies for central Oxfordshire.
The Government's proposed changes include the provision of 55,200 houses in Oxfordshire between 2006 and 2026.
