What were these elections about?

Elections for all English county councils took place on Thursday 4 June 2009. People voted to elect a county councillor to represent them on Oxfordshire County Council.

Oxfordshire has a two-tier system of local government - this means that some of your local services are provided by Oxfordshire County Council, and some by your district council. Only the county council elections took place on 4 June, not the district council elections.

You could also vote for your MEPs (Members of the European Parliament). The results of the European elections were announced on Sunday 7 June.

Who is my county councillor?

County councillors represent areas called divisions. To find out what division you are in, enter your address details into Oxfordshire LocalView. Once you have selected your house, click on the name next to 'County divisions' to find out who your councillor (or councillors - some divisions have more than one seat) is.
