Street Tag

A fun, free, smartphone app that offers rewards for exercise.

Get everyone in your community moving with Street Tag and convert walking into Street Tag points (tags).

Why not get your school to sign up? It’s quick and easy, and you don’t need to be a directly connected to the school. Anyone in the community can select the school and then contribute the points they win for walking to help the school reach the top of the leaderboard.

When playing Street Tag, you scan virtual tags with your smartphone while you are out and about. Every point you get for a tag adds to your chosen school’s leaderboard. The app can run in the background, so it automatically collects tags in a 40-metre radius allowing you to focus on your journey and not your phone.

Each game season lasts 12 weeks. In that time, you’ll be competing with other schools to hit the top of the leader board and become the winners.

Get ready to start your journey to a healthy lifestyle with Street Tag.

Points mean prizes

The top three schools on each of the district leader boards will be rewarded at the end of each 12-week season, and the top two schools from each district in seasons one and two will be entered in the Street Tag Oxfordshire School Games Finals to compete to be recognised as the most active school in the county.

  • Download the Street Tag app from the Play Store or App Store. You can add up to two children to your app
  • Scan the QR code at your primary school
  • Select the school leaderboard from the leaderboard options. Then choose the school you’d like to support and pick your preferred team.
  • Top the leader board to get rewards and the chance to win prizes from Street Tag such as Amazon vouchers, gift cards, sports equipment, and lots more

If your school hasn’t signed up, ask them to fill in the online form for more information.

You can collect extra points

Triple your Street Tag points with power hour! When will your hour be? On the school run? During your lunch break?

Just pre-select your 60-minute burst on the power hour tab in the main menu of the app and watch yourself climb up the leader board.

You can pick up more than books at our libraries

The ten libraries are:

  • Oxfordshire County
  • Henley
  • Thame
  • Didcot
  • Abingdon
  • Kidlington
  • Wantage
  • Witney
  • Banbury
  • Bicester

What has happened to the community league?

To make things simple, for the season beginning in September 2022 we’ll be focusing everyone’s effort on the schools’ leaderboard.

If you have previously taken part in the community league, you’ll just need to select a school when you register for the next season. It doesn’t need to be your local school.

The game is the same, and you can still walk with the same people, but you’ll be adding to your chosen school’s totals instead.
