A team of firefighters are taking over Swinford Toll Bridge in Eynsham to highlight to drivers the importance of checking their tyres after government figures reveal that 164 people have lost their lives over the last five years due to the condition of their tyres.

In true British Bank Holiday fashion I notice that the forecasters are predicting a slight downturn in the weather for this special Jubilee weekend after the recent hot and sunny spell. At least they are only predicting some rain and not a washout for the whole four days!
