Background to the area transport strategies

The area transport strategies form part of the third Local Transport Plan (LTP3) which runs from 2011 to 2030. Our role is to:

• assess improvement needs
• evaluate and identify elements of sustainable transport strategies
• carry out feasibility studies, environmental assessments and public consultations
• manage the implementation of agreed improvements
• provide advice to district councils and developers about their development plans
• liaise with the Highways Agency

Local Development Frameworks and Local Plans

Oxfordshire County Council is a statutory consultee for the development of the district councils' Local Development Frameworks. You can find more information about these on the district council websites:

These documents set out the districts' new planning policies up to 2026, replacing the old system of district local plans and county structure plans.
