Before you are able to receive support, you will need to have an assessment.

Approved personal assistants
Approved personal assistants help people who require social care and support. They are checked, trained and sign a code of conduct under Oxfordshire County Council's new Support with Confidence scheme.

Care charges
Depending on your financial circumstances, you may be expected to pay for or contribute towards the cost of your care. Following a financial assessment, we will give you a clear idea of what you will be expected to pay and how the charges are calculated.

Day centre services
Oxfordshire County Council day centres have special baths with hoists, and offer hairdressing, podiatry and therapies. For some services you may need to be assessed for eligibility.

Podiatry is available from centres across the county, dependent on the seriousness of the condition.

Sole mates service
A nailcutting and footcare service is carried out by trained volunteers from Age UK Oxfordshire. There is a charge for the service.
This service is for older people who are unable to cut their own nails through reasons of frailty and difficulty bending, poor eyesight or problems with dexterity.
