Schools' performance

School performance - not just SAT and GCSE results - is monitored through regular inspections by Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education.

Ofsted inspection reports

Ofsted reports cover primary, secondary, 16 plus, independent and special schools; pupil referral units and day-care providers. They can give you the thorough and impartial view you need about a school. Search for a school report by name, postcode or Ofsted number of the school. See Oftsed's inspection reports.

Performance tables

These tables give information on the achievements of pupils in local schools and how they compare with other schools in the area and in England as a whole. Search for a school by name, postcode or using the interactive map. Achievement and attainment tables from the Department for Education.

Value Added reports

FFT Live is Fisher Family Trust's online reporting system providing schools and local authorities with a range of online reports to support target setting and self evaluation. Value Added measure the progress made by an individual pupil, or group of pupils between Key Stages 1 and 2 or Key Stages 2 and 4. It compares the progress made by each pupil with the average progress made by 'similar pupils', defined by FFT as pupils with similar prior attainment, gender and month of birth. Access is restricted to schools and specific local authority staff.  

School self-evaluation

Pupil and school-level attainment ('absolute standards' - such as the percentage of pupils gaining five or more A*-C grades including English and mathematics at GCSE) and achievement (a measure of the progress pupils have made) are analysed within schools using an online tool from Oftsed and DfE called RAISEonline.
