Major road repair programme

Our programme of work across the county, including winter damage repairs.

Detail of map showing repair programme

We will invest in the region of £15 million in planned major structural maintenance works during this financial year. This will include:

  • road resurfacing
  • road repair
  • road sealing works
  • highway reconstruction
  • drainage maintenance
  • bridge maintenance
  • street lighting maintenance
  • footways

These are carried out with the aim of extending the life or improving the overall condition of a particular section of highway or structure. We will also continue our commitment to invest in routine maintenance activities (pothole repairs, patching, etc).

The sections of road have been selected according to strict criteria to make sure the money is spent where it is needed the most.

Local residents and businesses who will be affected by the work will be given details before it takes place. For schemes with a particularly large impact, additional information will be added to this section of the website.

You can also find more information about the planned work, and other roadworks we, or utility companies, are carrying out on our live travel pages (and on our top ten roadworks page).
