Major road repair programme

Our programme of work across the county, including winter damage repairs.

Detail of map showing repair programme

Following the widespread damage to the road network caused by last winter’s severe weather, such as an increase in potholes, the Department for Transport identified additional funding (through the Section 31 grant) to assist Local Authorities with the cost of urgent repairs. Oxfordshire has received £3.5 million.

We are using this grant, together with funds we had already set aside, to carry out a major structural repair programme worth around £9 million in total.

The sections of road have been selected according to strict criteria to make sure the money is spent where it is needed the most.

Local residents and businesses who will be affected by the work will be given details before it takes place. For schemes with a particularly large impact, additional information will be added to this section of the website.

You can also find more information about the planned work, and other roadworks we, or utility companies, are carrying out on our live travel pages (and on our top ten roadworks page).
