Library computers are free to library members and visitors to use for up to 60 minutes a day. You need to be a member in order to book online.
The bookable library computers will be unavailable on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 May. We apologise for the inconvenience which is due to a system update. The information computers will remain available through this period as will the public computers in smaller libraries.
Book a computer in a library
Computers are in great demand, so it is advisable to book in advance. You can reserve a computer up to seven days ahead.
You can book online for computers at Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, Blackbird Leys, Carterton, Cowley, Didcot, Headington, Henley, Kidlington, Oxford Central, Summertown, Thame, Wantage and Witney.
You will need your library membership card number and your PIN. Children's computers can only be booked with a children's card number. You must have an adult membership card (over 15) to book an adult computer.
Please be aware that you will lose your session if you do not take up your reservation within 10 minutes of the start time.

Reserving a computer does not guarantee its availability. If the specific PC you requested becomes unavailable due to technical problems we will try to transfer your reservation to another PC.
No more than two people may use a computer at one time, subject to the discretion of library staff.
Booking a computer with a scanner
There is at least one scanner per library and more in the larger libraries. To identify these computers on the online booking system, hold the cursor over the machine number you wish to book and the description "Standard" or "With Scanner" will appear.

Online shopping
If you wish to use library computers to enter personal or financial information, you should be aware that you are doing so in a public place. The Library Service cannot be held responsible for any losses resulting from sending confidential financial information via the Internet.
Cost
The use of computers is free of charge. However, there are charges for printing and charges may be applied for other services.
Children and young people
Children under the age of 15 will only be allowed to use a designated children's computer.

All Oxfordshire libraries are UK Online centres and we will help you to sign up to UK Online’s Go On, an excellent self-help introduction to computers and the Internet that you can use to learn at your own pace. Some libraries also offer regular computer help sessions in addition to special events; please ask staff for further details.
