Hill End is a 65-acre site spread over a gentle south-facing hillside on the edge of Wytham Woods, Oxfordshire.
The site is managed for wildlife, with a wide diversity of habitats including chalk grassland, ponds and streams, marshland and developing woodland. The upper grassland slopes are part of the Wytham Wood Site of Special Scientific Interest. It can provide all of the natural resources for field studies and environmental education. In 2004 the site achieved its Eco Centre status meaning we maintain an environmentally friendly approach to everything we do.
There are facilities for organised groups of any age to spend a day or stay on a residential visit at any time of the year. Once here you will find the site remarkably peaceful and an ideal location for educational, social and recreational visits.
A range of activities based on different Key Stage groups, activities where a teacher or instructor organises and leads the sessions for that particular activity.
Courses to support local schools and teachers in increasing the value of their school environment for use in teaching the National Curriculum. The courses are aimed primarily at teachers and all involved in early years and special needs education, though the public is welcome as well. The invertebrate identification workshops are aimed at all interested beginners.

Follow the A40 towards Oxford. At the Eynsham roundabout take road for Stanton Harcourt (B4449). At the third roundabout take the first left to Oxford (B4044). Pass over the toll bridge and through Farmoor towards Oxford. Hill End is half a mile down on the left and is clearly signposted.
Take the exit for Swindon, Bristol and West (A420). After about half a mile take the exit for Eynsham (B4044). Turn right under the flyover. Hill End is the second drive on the right and is clearly signposted.
Take the road under the station bridge and along Botley Road. Continue until you pass under the ring road flyover. Pass the shops and take the right turn at the foot of Cumnor Hill along Eynsham Road (B4044). Pass under the next flyover. Hill End is the second drive on the right and is clearly signposted.
Follow the A420 towards Oxford. Take the left turn for Cumnor (B4017) and go through the village towards Farmoor (B4017). This will take you down the hill and past the reservoir. At the junction (small roundabout) turn right towards Oxford (B4044). Hill End is half a mile down on the left and is clearly signposted.
Stay on the dual carriageway, past the Cumnor turn (B4017), down the hill. At the roundabout junction with the A34 (recognisable by the Texas/Habitat/Hartford Motors complex and tower), go right around and take the Swindon turn as if you are going back. Take the first turn on the left, about a quarter of a mile along, for Eynsham (B4044). Turn right under the flyover.Hill End is the second drive on the right and is clearly signposted.
