Get involved

Involving parents and carers of children with special educational needs in decision-making.

Parent/Carer Involvement Network

We are trying to improve children's services and in order to do this we need parents’ and carers’ help.

  • Do you have something to say about children's services?
  • Do you have any ideas about what could be improved?
  • Would you like to talk to us or other parents about issues online?
  • Would you be interested in speaking up with other parents about an issue with the council’s main decision makers?

You would represent parents from your communities at professional meetings and be given training and support to do this excellently and meaningfully.

Sounding Board

The Sounding Board gives the opportunity for a group of parents/carers (approximately 15-40) to meet with our Director for Children Young People and Families and a range of managers and partners who are involved with providing services for children.

This gives you an opportunity to give your views on a particular issue that affects the lives of your child and family. Three or four actions are then agreed which will develop/improve the services families receive.

So far, we have held Sounding Boards on:

Interested?

If you have views on any of these issues, would like to join the Involvement Network  or future Sounding Boards (transport can be provided, and expenses paid), please call or text Toni Bremble on 07771 978455 toni.bremble@oxfordshire.gov.uk.
