Funding and grants

How organisations and individuals can find and apply for funding opportunities.

To help local organisations in their search for funding we have taken out a subscription to GRANTnet. This allows you to search a database of over 4,000 funding opportunities available from United Kingdom and European Commission sources.

GRANTnet is a user-friendly free-to-use service that has been devised to assist community and voluntary groups, sports and other clubs, schools, social enterprises and small businesses to identify funding opportunities for specific projects.

Using GRANTnet

Once you have registered with GRANTnet, you will be emailed a password to gain access. Having logged into the system, you answer a few simple questions about your organisation and the project you wish to undertake. GRANTnet will then provide an overview of all the schemes available.

The council receives reports of all searches carried out on GRANTnet and we work with Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action (OCVA) to identify whether you are a voluntary or community organisation which would benefit from their support. OCVA may contact you directly to offer some free support.

Need help putting a funding bid together?

Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action (OCVA) runs a free Funding Advice Service for voluntary and community organisations.

Find out more about OCVA’s services and other organisations that can give support when you are developing a project and looking for funding.

Information about local funding and procurement opportunities

The Oxfordshire Guide to Funding Opportunities 2012-13 lists a range of local funders including the district and county councils. This is produced by OCVA and can be accessed at www.oxnet.org.uk. You can also use Source Oxfordshire, which helps businesses and voluntary organisations understand the procurement and grants processes, as well as helping to find and apply for opportunities in Oxfordshire and further afield.

We have put together a summary listing of funding opportunities available from Oxfordshire County Council, which includes the councillor community budgets.
