Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) processing service

How to apply for a CRB disclosure check and review application status.

As a registered umbrella body for the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), we can perform CRB disclosure checks for your business or organisation. All organisations, which include all public, private and third sector organisations, as well as academies in Oxfordshire, can register to use our service.

To begin to use the CRB processing service, you first need to register with us, providing key information about your organisation and nominate a representative. Once this has been done, you will receive a login for the online system and guidance on how to use it.

What is a CRB check?

A CRB check searches details against criminal records and other sources, including the Police National Computer. The results of the search are supplied to the employer and the prospective employee. It will either confirm that the person has no criminal record, or it will list any relevant convictions, cautions, reprimands, warnings and, if applicable, whether they have been barred from working with vulnerable groups. The police can also include non-conviction information, for example, fixed penalties, that may be relevant.

How to apply

  1. If you are interested in using our service, you must register with us first.  Please contact the HR Vetting and CRB Team (contact details across).
  2. Once you have registered with us, you will be issued with a login to access the CRB online system.
