Crafts adult learning courses

Develop your creativity with our creative crafts courses.

Needle and thread

Our tutors inspire both beginners and improvers to learn new skills and create imaginative pieces, using materials such as clay, silver, copper, knitting yarn and lino.

Jewellery, floral art, ceramics and stained glass are still firm favourites, and many of our learners are amazed at what they can achieve.

Sewing is fashionable again, promoted by television celebrities and the growth in retro-chic and highstreet stores.

In response to demand we are offering a whole spectrum of courses, from beginners wanting to know how to sew, to dressmaking and revamping old garments. We also offer classes on recycling fabrics, and traditional crafts such as patchwork, quilting and embroidery.

You can also learn valuable household skills such as plumbing and picture framing.

Learn traditional and contemporary processes through courses of varying lengths, including one-day workshops, which are priced according to topic and the cost of providing tools and specialist materials.
