Assisted instrument purchase

Music students in Oxfordshire can purchase new instruments without paying VAT, reducing the cost by 16.67%. The scheme is approved by HM Revenue and Customs and operates nationwide on a not-for-profit basis through schools and local authority music services.

Oxfordshire County Music Service is one of the administrators of this 'assisted instrument purchase' scheme but can only act for pupils attending ensembles or who receive musical tuition through the Music Service as part of their music education. Pupils whose musical education is provided through their schools must approach their individual schools if they wish to take advantage of the scheme.
